Even the finest synthetics or acrylics cannot match the versatility, durability, and lasting value of stone. These traits make granite and marble ideal for kitchen countertops, bathroom vanities, flooring and more. While synthetics try to make their product look natural, their aesthetics do not come close to the richness, depth, and polish that organic quality provides. Overall, stone products are the strongest countertop materials available.

Marble is less suitable for kitchens, but makes an elegant counter surface for bathroom vanity tops, floors, tub decks and showers, as it shines best in the bath. Marble has a variety of densities, many of which are lighter than granites. Most marble has a higher water absorption rate, and a lower abrasion resistance compared to granite. Marble is also suitable for fireplace facings, walls and windowsills.
